I've had a sense of visual instinct my whole life, from making posters similar to the graphic design is my passion meme or editing vlogs on my way to high school, I always had something that was striking the eye of myself and critics. I started photography professionally 5 years ago when I learned that the only way out of fear is through reality. Being a shy person has led me to be perceptive to sensitivity and for the impact of statements, visually and verbally. As I pursued photography I’ve maneuvered through different specialties in architectural and scenic photography to life moments but I felt unsatisfied, capturing memories of stories already told by others. I’m not interested in retelling history, discovery is what's truly impactful.
I only live and create through a philosophical lens, not for gratification, and that is what has led me to find success. All art is a form of humanistic communication and bursts of natural behavior. I’ve learned that artistic disciplines do not have to be limited to a title, but rather actions. I am always with reason, with decisiveness, and with advanced skill on all sides of production and will never be without a solution to the realities of production. Being a creative director doesn’t mean holding on to the past, it means taking on future experiences and translating their philosophy into beautifully arranged reality.
I’ve directed and led video productions, marketing campaigns, advertising materials, and more for clients such as Gorgie and Amour Eunoia. Each campaign is a unique approach to client expectations, I reach beyond the ideal and create higher standards for my clients. Creative direction has led me to every deep crevice of the production process and I couldn’t be more grateful. I have become accustomed to the patience it takes to be pleased with myself starting in storyboarding, ending with publications, and everything in between. When I first started I became accustomed to avoiding execution of my ideas because I held onto the fear of developing a sense of attachment to something so impermanent and public, but as any artist should – I take a breath and let myself flow with the gracefulness of my imagination becoming tangible. Stories with nowhere to go are fantasies, not dreams, and I was tired of expecting fantasies to come to fruition with no outlet to make it happen. I have learned to develop my taste in research and the skills required to perform each step of production. Slowly my fantasies disappeared and my dreams and reality clash into each other frequently, bringing creative abundance,
With over 2,000 auditions and applications, casting has become instinctual and knowing when to say no has become second nature to me. I have 3 years of casting decisions for professional and personal productions and 2 years of model scouting experience due to my work as a creative director. I have never found a face that I develop not to be in the rooms they want to be in. I have learned being personable and intrinsically artistic is the key to modeling and entertainment. When you are left with a vacant and unexpressive self, a vacant blank canvas, you can not evolve emotionally or with taste and leads to unfulfillment in career and no growth in creative sectors. I always preserve the artistic instincts of the talent I scout and by doing so they have evolved to be more open and honest on set and in production. When I first started scouting I found my talent facing rejections. At first I second guessed my beliefs or judgement, but the truth was simple and too common. My talent was getting rejected because of uninspired composite cards and I was livid. I quickly learned that procedure means nothing when taste gets more results and more motivation. I developed a methodology to taking beautiful and charming modeling portraits that account for a range of faces, shades, and attitudes with many faces and have not been able to accept mediocrity from other creatives since that era of my life.
I find the paths my passion takes me through amusing. I’ve learned storyboard, edit, colorgrade, and graphic design fundamentals because I knew my number one resource is myself! The camera has led me to understand the law of lighting, angular appeal in posing, and the composition of work I find the most beautiful. The fine arts have led me to curate galleries, strive for impact, and be eagle eyed with contextualizing the world. My love for the work I do stems from fashion and music, the whiskey and tango of life, that others make. I can confidently say it goes hand-in-hand with everything I make and want to develop. Personal projects I’ve created, like 1 cm, are connected to what I felt was a natural companion to fashion films and challenges me to write for the intent of journey inspecting, compared to a visual abstract of thought I use for my art films. I want to develop the proof of concepts to full length films and scripted series and move to the next step of development. In the process of developing shows I’ve learned to appreciate the natural sequence of life around me and have found a growth of appreciation of agriculture and the culinary arts while writing and finding my artistic true-self. My next non-scripted proof of concept is ready to be put into circulation for production with a life altering question to be answered – how could we ever let artists starve?
